Sanctuaries, temples and old towns

Phimai Historical Park holds the largest Khmer sanctuary in Thailand, and one of the few laid out facing south. Prasat Phanom Wan and the old city moat are both a short drive away.

In the city itself, Chumphon Gate and the Thao Suranari Monument stand a few hundred metres apart, leaving time for the temples outside town the same day.
